Legal Aid And Advocacy

Free legal representation for children and women survivors of abuse, from police complaints to case closure.
Representation in Magistrate and High Courts across Sri Lanka, including complex cases involving cyber exploitation, incest, trafficking, and institutional abuse.
Policy advocacy for child protection law reform, including representations to the Presidential Committee on Child Protection in 2023 and active participation in working groups on child-sensitive justice procedures. We also conduct and facilitate State Sector Trainings and case conferencing to reduce secondary victimization and promote survivor-centered legal responses.

Psycho-Social Support

At Child Protection Force, we provide trauma-informed psychological and psychosocial support to child and adult survivors of abuse. Survivors receive individual counselling, group therapy, and regular mental health assessments to support their healing journey. All residents of Safe House Meththa undergo quarterly psychological reviews, while CPF staff and frontline responders are also supported to manage burnout and secondary trauma. Our in-house psychologists and volunteer counsellors work closely with our legal and shelter teams to ensure that survivors are cared for holistically, not just legally. We are also supported in this work by Zoey the Golden Retriever, currently in therapy dog training, who visits the Safe House regularly and has become an essential source of comfort, calm, and joy to the children navigating recovery from severe trauma.

Safe House Meththa

Safe House Meththa is a confidential shelter managed by Child Protection Force, providing protection and care for girls and women who are survivors of abuse, exploitation, and trafficking. The shelter offers 24/7 support, therapy, medical care, legal aid, and education. Residents are also guided through reintegration with vocational training and emotional healing. Meththa is a safe, nurturing space where survivors begin to rebuild their lives with dignity and support.

Training And Community Outreach

Child Protection Force conducts targeted trainings for law enforcement, child protection officers, probation officers, educators, and other frontline responders to build capacity in trauma-informed, child-sensitive practices. We have facilitated district-level workshops across the country on the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) approach, sensitive interviewing, and case conferencing. Through our #ChildForceTrooper initiative, we also engage directly with communities—raising awareness on body safety, online risks, and reporting mechanisms, and empowering adults and children alike to become active participants in child protection. Our goal is to strengthen both institutional response and community responsibility in safeguarding children.
